The project reflects on the spiritual connection to the Ghanaian landscape through the magical encounters where natural elements come into contact with each other. Exploring the materials that would reflect the narratives surrounding the land and indigenous understanding of the mineral resources of Volta Land and Ga Mashie. Ella has chosen to work with stone, glass and gold to produce a collection of sculptural lights that narrate the magical encounters of her home land.

Just like the indigenous Ghanaian communities. Italian artisans have long created a relationship with the materials developing understanding and relationship with material resources by communicating with their hands. Therefore, each material was intentionally selected and crafted to narrate Ghanaians collection to the land, transforming narratives and indigenous knowledge into tangible physical elements.
